Reporters Transcript of Trial, 9/8/98.

I rehearsed for several months how I would ask the judge to call the defendant. I knew from 1996 when my oral history became available to my conscious mind that I should place the responsibility squarely on the judge to call the defendant to the stand. Lines 23 to 25 should read;
"Your honor, I request that YOU call the defendant to the stand. I am certain we will find the truth in his testimony."
At line 26 there should be a note saying something like "five minute pause". The next line should say THE COURT: I don't think so.That is what the judge said. It was muttered but I believe the court reporter heard it.

The judge felt guilty so he let me have the court reporter for free.
