The integration of power, prestige, influence and responsibility that can make needed and appreciated changes. In a democracy the people provide a list of things that the diplomat must address in negotiations. In a Republic the commander in chief must define, in the peoples behalf, critical issues. The pomp and circumstance we see may be hard to appreciate although it serves a purpose in demonstrating for the authority receiving a diplomat, respect. The diplomat must work with the best information from the people that are represented as well as those dealt with. A diplomat must understand.
